6 day holidays!
Chuseok is one of the two most important and biggest national holidays in Korea. It’s to celebrate the year’s harvest and appreciate ancestors. Usually it is 3 day holidays and it follows the lunar calendar which is why the dates are always different every year.
National foundation day is October 3rd every year.
This year the sandwiched Monday is announced to become another additional holiday so we get 6 days long holiday!
Hangeul day 3 days weekend!
Being relatively a new national holiday, the great king Se-jong who invented written Korean language is doing another great thing even 570 years after his passing. October 9 th falls right after a Sunday making another long weekend in October!
